In former times, Felanitx has been a fairly industrial town; you just have to walk through its streets to appreciate the importance it had in the past. This small town is not invaded by mass tourism and still lives the real Mallorcan everyday life. Currently, the population is composed by Mallorcans, people from the Spanish mainland and a growing amount of foreign residents. Every Sunday, a large market with many stands along the main streets takes place.
The nearest beach is about 15 minutes away. The 18-hole golf course, Vall d’Or, is about 10 minutes by car and the capital Palma and the international airport about 40 min.
