This historic property is a special building, restored with great taste and attention to detail, whose origins date back to the 16th century. According to history, it was inhabited by nuns who supplied the entire region with the water mill that still exists. Every corner of the house tells the story of the land, its culture and the traditions associated with it. The restoration shows artistic, detailed and high-quality work. The architecture is playfully staged and carefully integrated into the natural landscape.
A sensitively executed work by experienced professionals and designers who knew how to combine living comfort, style, and selected materials with the originality of the building, its given structure and old elements. The orientation towards the original can be seen, among other things, in the fireplaces and seating areas, which were beautifully worked out based on the existing rooms. Thus, old wall formations, round arches, rock, and natural stone walls were skilfully combined with smooth cement floors, glass doors set in iron frames, terrazzo bathrooms and harmonious, unobtrusive kitchen elements.
As soon as you enter the property, you are surrounded by the feeling of being in another world. In the inviting entrance area, there is a quaint fireplace area to the right and an open study to the left. Over original rock you enter the open kitchen, which houses an old Mallorcan oven, and a cosy seating area integrated into the rock. From here you go directly into a dining area with an open fireplace and the adjoining living room, which is open to the roof over 5 metres. In the centre of the house is an atrium with 2 tall palm trees, from which you have access to a storage room and the outside technical room. The atrium also provides access to a spectacular semi-open dining and banqueting room with gallery and to one of the many terraces of this magnificent property.
The property has a total of 4 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and a further bedroom with a two-storey loft bed. Two of the bedrooms are located in the two apartments, which are separately accessible from the outside. These each have a living room and terrace area as well as an equipped kitchen.
From the outside, an old stone staircase leads to a roof terrace which offers spectacular views of the sea and the beautiful unspoilt hillside. The harbour of Porto Petro and the sea form the horizon to the southeast. Here you can enjoy pleasant hours with fantastic sunsets.
The property is equipped with underfloor heating. The insulating depth of the old walls creates a pleasantly cool climate on warmer days.
The wonderfully landscaped outdoor area invites you to linger and relax; numerous places to stay and rest are spread over the park-like grounds, which, with a small pond and the beautiful Mediterranean plants, palms, olive, and fruit trees, set the property in a dreamlike setting.
The garden has an exceptional pool of 26 metres in length – a dream for every swimmer. The large pool area is idyllically framed by old trees and the chirping of the birds and crickets encourages you to take a refreshing dive into the pool.
This exceptional property with about 630 m² of living area is situated on a plot of about 15.000 m² in the gentle hilly landscape of the villages of Calonge and Es Carritxó in the south-east of Mallorca.
The magnificent location of the finca offers incredibly beautiful and calming views across the countryside to the sea; it is an indescribable atmosphere that the entire property exudes.
The house itself is a declaration of love for nature and design. The attention to detail is reflected in every corner of the finca.
The property has a holiday rental licence. The Vall d’Or golf course can be reached in about 10 minutes by car.
